This series consists of correspondence, telegrams, airgrams, memorandums, reports and guidance related to international broadcasting and public information policy in Tangier. The records were maintained by the U.S. Legation, Morocco. Subjects covered include British applicants, a Tangier relay base, and monitoring of foreign stations. Additionally, there is an aerial photograph showing an early site survey for the relay base. There are also reports from the Central Frequency Staff of the Division of Radio Facilities Plans & Development of the International Broadcasting Service of the Department of State titled "Relay Bases Reception Summary," and "NEA News Guidance" from the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, and "Special Guidance" from the Department of State.

The first U.S. envoy to Morocco presented his credentials on September 29, 1906. On July 1, 1917, the U.S. Legation at Tangier was downgraded to an Agency and Consulate General, and in 1925 the U.S. mission was designated a Diplomatic Agency and Consulate General. The Legation was reinstated in 1933. The U.S. Embassy at Rabat was established on June 11, 1956, and on that same date the Legation at Tangier was redesignated as a Consulate General....
